Ok, i hear you ask, so what? let me tell you the story... we have a mutual friend/mentor called Adrian who lives with his wife and family near me. A while ago, whilst on our way back from a nonspecific trip to london, we happened upon a yard long cardboard tube which jonny befriended and carried along with us. Their relationship was fraught from the outset and the confrontation escalated until as we neared Adrian's road a brutal fight broke out between them, the end result being we had two halves of a cardboard roll on our hands. Naturally, both of us being of the artistic inclination, we drew smily faces on them along with the message "We know where you live" and left them on Adrians doorstep to brighten up his morning.
It could have all ended there. But for one thing. The next time we say him he told us that his nextdoor neibours had come round and told him that "dangerous youths" had been "tampering" with his front door. Naturally he imediatly thought of us. He knows us that well. This entertaining story stuck in our minds so much that the next time we knew we would pass his house on the way back from another friends house we constructed there a large-ish cardboard box with a beaming face from pieces of paper, again with the same message writen on it. After placing it quietly on his doorstep with a wave to the house next door we continued home, thinking about what the next step in the series should be. It was obvious that we must go on, there was just too much potential to ignore, yet at the same time we would have to do something amazing to truely "up our game".
It was there, while deep in thought, that I came up with our masterplan, the idea to end all ideas, a stroke of genius. We aranged to meet early the next week and create this being, using carboard, nails, the internet and tinfoil. After a few hours of "hard work"(jonny spent the entire time watching anime) it was done. Now all that was left was to leave it on Adrian's doorstep.
We got a lift from Jonny's dad and spent an electrifying two minutes slowly aproaching the house as quietly as the night around us. We could see the top of Adrian's head from one of the upstairs windows, all he'd have to do is turn round and the game would be up. With baited breath I carefully positioned it at the door for most effect and, mission sucessful, beat a hasty retreat....
Just imagine opening the door, early in the morning, just got out of bed, on the way to work, only to be greeted by this
and it's not over yet.......

Singapore Airport
It's where it's at.
and my home for the next few hours!! flying is fun!
mostly because watching the attendant's looks of horror as they try to balance drinks in all their hands while running down the aisles never ceases to amuse....
fingers crossed for the next leg in a while :ahoy:
and to all you others, 'I'm sorry, it just wouldn't have worked out between us' covers most. *grin*
Raaaaaaaaaar!
